Setting Data Objects

Link tasks, activities and processes with data objects, data inputs, data outputs and data stores.

BPMN recognizes the following data elements which can be all be modeled in Innovator:

These elements can be linked with the following flow nodes using data associations (please note that is only possible to model single direction data associations):

Data elements can be linked with business objects; structure definitions, classes or entities can be used to describe them.

Data store references can be linked with data stores.

Assignments or global or local transformations can be defined on data associations.Assignments and global transformations are realized in Innovator by elements of the expression type.

Data objects, data inputs and data outputs can be marked as multiple objects.

Setting Data Objects

How to proceed
  1. Create new elements using drag-and-drop from the Create Diagram Content gallery or the carousel.
  2. Connect flow nodes and data elements with the carousel using data associations.
Note:

Use the data store reference template if you want to create a data store reference.Use the data store template if you want to create a data store and assigned data store.

Marking Data Objects, Data Inputs or Data Outputs as Multiple Objects

Prerequisites

The data element to be marked cannot have a business object assigned to it.

Note:

Definition for multiple objects takes place in an assigned business process when defining assigned business objects.

How to proceed
  1. Select the data object, data input or data output.
  2. Activate the Multiple Elements check box in Properties.

The data element is given the marker for a multiple object.
